Flexible Spending Accounts allow you to get a tax savings on your money to be used to pay for eligible expenses. UF Health offers both the Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA) and the Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCRA).
These accounts are governed by the IRS. We recommend you review the associated IRS publications for additional information if this is your first time enrolling. See IRS Publication 969 for Health Care and IRS Publication 503 for Dependent Care.
Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA)
Funds in this account can be used to pay for eligible medical, dental, and/or vision expenses.
Eligible Medical Plans:
- Prime
- Prime Plus
- Premium
Maximum Annual Amount: $3,200
Minimum per pay period: $4.00
Maximum per pay period: $123.08
There is a $640 maximum rollover per year (must reenroll to rollover funds). Any remaining funds will be forfeited if not used.
Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account (LPFSA)
Funds in this account can be used to pay for eligible dental, and/or vision expenses. You are not able to use funds towards medical expenses.
Eligible Medical Plans:
- Healthy Rewards
Maximum Annual Amount: $3,200
Minimum per pay period: $4.00
Maximum per pay period: $123.08
There is a $640 maximum rollover per year (must reenroll to rollover funds). Any remaining funds will be forfeited if not used.
Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCRA)
Funds in this account can be used to pay for Day Care Expenses for qualifying dependents:
- 13 or under
- Mentally or physically incapable of self-care
- Dependent Adults
Maximum Annual Amount: $5,000
Minimum per pay period: $10.00
Maximum per pay period: $192.31
You must use all of the funds within the calendar year. There is no rollover allowed for this account.
