FMLA / Personal Leave of Absence

UF Health offers the following leave options when an employee needs to be away from work for an extended length of time.

Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

FMLA allows eligible employees to take up to 12 weeks of job-protected, unpaid leave for qualified medical and family reasons.

Personal Leave of Absence (LOA)

When an employee has either exhausted FMLA or is not eligible, UF Health offers a personal leave of absence that can be taken for up to 90 days.

*Paying for Benefits

Your benefits will continue while you are out on leave. If you are not receiving a paycheck from UF Health while out on leave, then there are other options for paying for your benefits.
